SINGAPORE – February 17, 2003 - Manusoft Technologies Pte Ltd, a Singapore-based company, today announced the availability of IMOLD 2003 Service Pack 0 for SolidWorks®, the production release of its latest version of IMOLD. With more than 100 user-driven enhancements and a completely new Graphics User Interface (GUI), IMOLD 2003 is the most significant release of its leading mold design software ever. IMOLD 2003 allows mold designers to design molds faster and better than ever before, and also allows him to focus on reducing the cost of mold fabrication, thus generating savings of time and money!

IMOLD is a knowledge-based software designed to encapsulate mold design intents in the specific discipline of plastic injection molds or similar. It leverages the power and ease of use of the SolidWorks environment, using the same heads-up Graphical User Interface (GUI) with powerful process-oriented tools. IMOLD assists the mold designer to radically shorten the overall mold design lead time, and with improved design qualities. It enables mold design/manufacturing companies to use a single integrated mold assembly database throughout CAD, CAM, Shop-floor Production and Mold Assembly Departments. IMOLD’s emphasis on standards and good manufacturing processes also reduces the manufacturing costs and enables mold makers to deliver quality molds in a shorter time frame and lower costs.

In addition to the significant number of enhancements and performance improvements, IMOLD 2003 also has 2 new and significant add-on modules:

IMOLDPlus
IMOLDPlus features powerful and unique draft analysis and surface parting capabilities, including the ability to detect and optionally split the side core faces based on a user-definable range of maximum and minimum draft angles (e.g., between -3º and +3º), and other advanced surfacing capabilities not available in SolidWorks.
Electrode Designer
Electrode Designer features industry-leading capabilities not found in other systems and it takes both electrode manufacturing and EDM machining requirements into consideration. The software includes an advanced Electrode Management System with tools to easily identify burn areas and create or insert standard electrodes while taking into consideration the least stock size needed and optimal insertion angle. Electrode Designer also generates setup sheets for CNC milling and EDM operations.
